Two separate groups of Christians were kidnapped in Nigeria. More than 50 Christian workers have been kidnapped on November 24. Authorities suspect the Fulani herdsmen responsible for the kidnappings. One of the women, was beaten to the point of death therefore was able to escape because the kidnappers believed her to be dead.
On November 24, abductors targeted two separate groups of Christians were kidnapped. One group with 48 Christians who were on the way to a funeral, were targeted. The other group with 23 Christians; were at a wedding. One of those abducted, a woman was beaten severely to the point of death. The kidnappers thought her to be dead therefore, left her in an unconscious state. She was later able to escape.
Cousin of the woman stated, “My cousin was beaten almost to the point of death because she couldn’t walk fast. They left her thinking she was dead. She later got revived and was wandering in the bush until a man found her and took her to a pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church.”
Reports detailed that four others were also able to escape from their captors and returned in safety. While remarking about the woman who escaped the kidnappers, her cousin said “Her daughter is among 43 others who are still held hostage.” “Please join me in prayer for their release from their captors, who are believed to be herdsmen,” she requested.
The other group of Christians who were attacked consisted of Christian workers from a local ministry called Peace House. They were on a bus travelling for the wedding, when the suspected herdsmen broke in the way and kidnapped 23 workers.
